Sri Vijaya Puram, June 2: India’s first dedicated Multi-Disciplinary Sports Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, established under the aegis of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment GoI, offers tremendous benefits and support to eligible Divyang athletes, empowering divyang-athletes and developing inclusive sports excellence in the country.
The Centre provides international-standard infrastructure, coaching, residential accommodation, dietary support, competition exposure, and essential support needed for admission in schools and colleges etc. to selected athletes across various disciplines. This initiative is a significant step toward nurturing talent and preparing para-athletes for national and international platforms.
The selection trials for Admission for the year 2025-26 is scheduled as per the details below:
Age Group: 13 to 25 years (as on 10 June 2025).
Games Offered: Athletics, Badminton, Football, Table Tennis, Swimming, Volleyball.
Selection Trial Dates: 16-18 June, 2025 (game-wise schedule in official website).
Venue: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Training Centre for Disability Sports, Gwalior.
Last Date for Application Submission: 10 June, 2025 (by post, up to 5.30 PM).
Eligibility: National/International classification, participation, or medal achievements.
