Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 6: The A&N Islands Rural Livelihoods Mission, under the Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs & ULBs, will be organising an ‘SHG Mela’ at Marina Park, on Oct. 10 & 11, from 4 PM to 9 PM. The Mela is being organised to provide a direct marketing and sales platform to rural Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and to showcase the wide range of products prepared by SHG members from different parts of the Islands.
Visitors to the Mela can explore and purchase a variety of handicrafts, handmade products, food products, coconut-based products, coir products, value-added products and other locally produced items prepared by SHG members.
The general public have been invited to visit the SHG Mela and extend their support to rural SHGs by purchasing their products and making the Mela successful and women-led rural enterprises.
