South Andaman Police Registers FIR in Government Job Fraud Case

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 23: In a significant action against fraudsters preying on job seekers, South Andaman Police has registered FIR at PS Pahargaon against Sharif Khan, Usha Kumari and Rinku Mala Mondal, all residents of Sri Vijaya Puram for allegedly duping multiple victims on the pretext of arranging Government jobs.

During the enquiry, statements of several complainants were recorded. They alleged that the accused persons acting in concert, induced them to pay substantial amounts of money on the false promise of securing Government jobs. The money was allegedly collected through cash, cheques and online transfers with agreements/promissory notes/undertakings executed in some cases. Despite receiving the money, the accused persons allegedly neither arranged the promised jobs nor refunded the amounts.

The enquiry revealed a common modus operandi and prima facie evidence of cheating, Accordingly, an FIR was registered for further investigation.

South Andaman Police requests general public who might have fallen victim to similar frauds to come forward and report. Citizens may contact 112, 03192-232100 or 03192-236641. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential.

South Andaman Police appeals to the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent promises of Government employment and to report such activities promptly.
