
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 3: In a determined and well-coordinated effort to combat the drug menace, Police Station Aberdeen has successfully arrested three (03) drug peddlers in three (03) separate cases and seized a total of 8.705 kgs of ganja and 1.68 grams of Methamphetamine during a series of targeted operations conducted last week.
A special team comprising of SI Samiran Mridha, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs K. Jayraj, P. Mohd. Rafique, Jagdish Babu, Surender Singh Yadav and Anup Majh was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen. The team executed meticulously planned raids at multiple locations under the jurisdiction of PS Aberdeen.
On 28/08/2025, acting on credible intelligence, the team intercepted Alapati Mani Raju (27yrs) R/o Dollygunj near the Fisheries Training Centre, Sea Shore Road, Dignabad and recovered 8.120 kilograms of ganja from his possession. On 29/08/2025, another raid was carried out at Joggers Park area near Forest Nursery, Sri Vijaya Puram, resulting in the arrest of Kuldeep Singh (27 yrs), a private worker R/o Goal Ghar with 585 grams of ganja. On 30/08/2025, the team continued its decisive action by raiding the backside of ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram and apprehended C. Sathyapriya (26 yrs) S/o N. Chandran R/o Dairy Farm, with 1.68 grams of methamphetamine from his possession.
Subsequently, all individual accused have been booked under relevant section of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 at PS Aberdeen and further investigation of the cases are underway.
All the raids were conducted under the command of Sh. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIIPS, SDPO South Andaman and over all supervision of Sh. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
