Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: A special awareness program on Child Rights and Health & Nutrition was conducted at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Prothrapur today. In the first session of program, Smt. V. Jyotimani, ANM educated the boys and girls about adolescents and issues related to menstrual hygiene. Smti. Nilofar Bano, Call Operator, CHL shared the valuable information of Child Help Line (1098), Women Helpline (181) and Senior Citizen Helpline (14567). She encouraged children to raise voice against violence and report them by calling on the Toll-Free Numbers.
During the second session, Smti. Hemlatha, Gender Specialist, SHEW elaborated on the topic, gender issue and equality among the teenagers. Dr. Nitu Sindhu, State Mission Coordinator, SHEW spoke about HP vaccine to prevent cervical cancer, genital warts and other cancers in both men and women. Information was communicated on importance of super foods like moringa and jackfruit for elimination of malnutrition among teenagers. Smti. Jyoti, SI, PS Pahargaon enlightened the gathering about drug abuse and motivated the participants to focus on studies for bright future.
