Sri Vijaya Puram, June 23: A State-Level Conference addressing Child Marriage, Child Sexual Abuse, and Suicide, with a legal focus on the POCSO Act and the Mental Health Act, was held on June 21 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Esteemed dignitaries who addressed the conference included Hon’ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court & Executive Chairman, NALSA, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipankar Datta, Judge, Supreme Court & Patron – A&N SLSA, Hon’ble Mr. Justice T.S. Sivagnanam, Chief Justice, High Court at Calcutta & Patron-in-Chief, A&N SLSA, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, Judge, High Court at Calcutta & Executive Chairman, A&N SLSA and also eminent Administrative Officials from the A & N Administration.
The speakers highlighted the vital need for coordinated efforts between the judiciary, law enforcement, mental health professionals, and community leaders. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Rashid Alam, Registrar & Member Secretary, A&N State Legal Services Authority.
