State-Level Science Project Competition by Science Centre Witnesses Nearly 30 Working Science Projects and Models by Students

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 29: The Science Center Sri Vijaya Puram conducted a State-level Science Project Competition for school students of Classes 6 to 11 today. The event showcased young scientific talent through nearly 30 selected working science projects and models which were displayed and demonstrated by participating students.

Four outstanding students were selected for cash awards of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,000, and Rs. 1,000 alongwith certificates. Sudeepto Das for project “Automated Milk Spilling Stopper” of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sitanagar was declared as winner, Polimera Lavanya for project “Sustaining Life Beyond Earth” of St. Xavier School, Manarghat was declared as 1st runner-up, K.R. Dayanidhi for project “Waste Segregation Automation” of Vivekananda Nagar Palika Vidyalaya, Ranchi Tekri was decared 2nd runner-up and Bharani Dharan for project “Smart Irrigation” of R.G.T Public Vidyalaya bagged consolation prize.  

The exhibition drew a large number of general visitors, teachers and students. The event was coordinated by Shri Debashis Paul, Education Officer, Science Center who ensured smooth organization and enthusiastic participation from schools across the Islands and stated that such events encourage scientific thinking among students and inspire them to pursue careers in science and technology.
