Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: The Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) was inaugurated today by State Mission Director, ANIRLM in the presence of EDII representative and State Programme Manager and programme functionaries.
The SVEP project has commenced in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Gujarat. Under this initiative, 30 candidates have been selected to undergo training as Community Resource Person – Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EP).
The four-day residential training programme will be conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra ICAR, Sippighat where participants will receive intensive training on various technical aspects for baseline survey and Detailed Project Report will be prepared and then SVEP Cluster will be promoted by combining the C.D Block Prothrapur and Ferrargunj.
The SVEP programme aims to promote entrepreneurship among SHG members, support the establishment of rural enterprises, and strengthen local economic development. Through trained CRP-EPs, the programme will facilitate handholding support for SHG members in starting and expanding small businesses, improving access to credit, and ensuring sustainable livelihoods.
Addressing the participants, State Mission Director, ANIRLM emphasized that the programme will play a crucial role in creating village-level entrepreneurs and generating employment opportunities, thereby contributing to economic empowerment and self-reliance among rural communities.
The initiative is expected to significantly enhance entrepreneurial capacity among SHG members and foster a vibrant ecosystem for rural enterprises in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
