Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 16: In a major push towards agricultural modernization in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) for the year 2025–26, a 50% subsidy limited to one set per beneficiary upto a maximum of Rs. 30,000/- shall be provided for the purchase of Carbon Fiber Telescopic Harvesters. This initiative is part of the Government’s efforts to equip farmers with modern tools like Carbon Fiber Telescopic Harvester which is a lightweight yet durable tool made from rust-resistant carbon fiber, ideal for the island’s tropical climatic condition. Its telescopic design allows farmers to harvest from the ground, eliminating the risks associated with climbing trees. This modern tool not only improves safety but also saves time and labour, helping farmers increase their overall income and efficiency.
Farmers with a minimum area of 0.10 hectare shall be eligible to avail the subsidy under this component. Application forms are available at the nearest Agriculture Sub-Depot/Zonal Office.
