Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 14: In view of the heavy rush of devotees expected in the Junglighat area during the Durga Puja festival, the Sunday Market scheduled on Oct. 18 will be held at the open ground opposite the Fish Market, Junglighat. This arrangement is being made to ensure the smooth and safe movement of devotees, pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
All vendors are requested to:
• Set up their stalls only at the open ground opposite the Fish Market, Junglighat, on 18th October 2026.
• Refrain from vending along the main road, footpaths and the traffic circle area, so that these remain clear for devotees and vehicles.
• Keep the market area clean and dispose of waste only at the designated points.
• No vehicles or carts are allowed inside the ground.
The general public have also been requested to visit the market at the new location and to park vehicles without obstructing traffic. The Council seeks the kind cooperation of all street vendors, traders’ associations and the general public in ensuring a safe, orderly and joyful Durga Puja celebration for everyone.
