
Car Nicobar, June 2: Today On 31/05/2025, a Jansunwai was held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre, Lapathy Car Nicobar, nder the chairmanship of Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, focusing on youth engagement and spreading awareness on key social and legal issues. The event saw active participation from students, teachers, and faculties of SAI.
The Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District briefed about future opportunities for youth, including government schemes, scholarships, sports careers, and skill development programs. Officials reaffirmed their support for empowering the island’s young population. Further a dedicated session was held to raise awareness about the POCSO Act, educating attendees on child protection laws and the importance of promptly reporting abuse to ensure the safety and well-being of children. This was followed by a session on drug abuse, where experts highlighted its harmful effects and emphasized the critical role of families, schools, and communities in prevention. The Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District also briefed on cyber fraud focused on digital safety, cautioning against online scams and urging vigilance in financial transactions and encouraged the responsible use of social media, promoting digital etiquette, privacy awareness, and the positive use of online platforms. The Jansunwai reaffirmed a shared commitment to building a safe, informed, and progressive society in Car Nicobar through active youth participation.
