Sri Vijaya Puram, July 17: The Department of Tourism, A & N Administration, in collaboration with Dive Associations and Centres at North Bay, is all set to celebrate Women’s Dive Day with the theme #Divingdivas on 19th July, 2025. The celebrations will primarily take place at North Bay, in partnership with the North Bay Dive Club, Yogi Divers & Andaman Sea Wonders and Dive Oceano, with under water clean-up drives in all diving sites at Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.
The key highlights of the Women’s Dive Day 2025 include:
Special Diving for Women: Dive Centres will organize exclusive diving at special discounted rates for women participants to encourage greater involvement at North Bay.
Underwater Clean-up Drives: Dive teams across North Bay, Swaraj Dweep, and Shaheed Dweep will also conduct underwater clean-up drives to promote marine conservation and sustainable tourism.
Recognition of Women Divers: The Department of Tourism will felicitate pioneering women divers and instructors along with supporting dive associations for their contributions to the diving community.
The main event at North Bay is scheduled to begin at 10 am on 19th July, 2025 and will conclude by 1 pm. Renowned trained Dive Instructors, namely – Ms. Sayali Ranadive, (Main Dive Instructor, Ms. Gayatri, Assistant Dive Instructor from Barefoot Scuba and Ms. Sharmila (Additional Dive Instructor) will assist the women divers during the event.
All logistical support, including transportation of dive equipment, site setup, and provision of changing rooms, will be arranged by the collaborating Dive Associations to meet the specific requirements of the program for women divers. This initiative underscores the Department of Tourism, A & N Administration’s strong commitment to promoting Adventure Tourism, empowering women in specialized fields like Scuba Diving and preserving the Islands’ rich marine biodiversity.
