Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 14: As part of its ongoing initiative to promote tourism during the offseason and highlight the rich historical legacy of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Tourism Department will be organizing a Public Lecture on Heritage Tourism titled: ‘Heritage Tourism – History of Andaman and Nicobar – Ancient & Pre-colonial era’ on 23rd August, 2025 at 11 AM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Disaster Management. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Pronob Sircar, Tribal Welfare Department an expert in the Islands’ history and culture.
The event aims to create awareness and appreciation of heritage tourism, connecting the past with the present for both residents and visitors. Students, historians, researchers, tourists, and members of the public are invited to attend this knowledge-sharing session and gain fresh insights into one of India’s most significant historical legacy.
