Training on Adolescent Friendly Health Services Organised for ANMs and CHOs

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 29: A five days training on Adolescent Friendly Health Services under RKSK was organized for ANMs and CHOs from Jan. 20 to 24 in the Conference Hall, Directorate of Industries. The training aimed to expand the scope of adolescent health programme from being limited to sexual and reproductive health, to ambit nutrition, injuries, and violence (including gender-based violence), non-communicable diseases, mental health, and substance misuse.

The Director of Health Services, Dr. H.M. Siddaraju emphasized on conducting regular Adolescent Friendly Health Clinics at their respective Health Institutions and to motivate adolescents to approach the health workers for any physical or mental health problems while Dr. Shiny Varghese, Deputy Director (FW), motivated all participants to enter the data in Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic (AFHC) application for the improvement in AFHC ranking.

Dr Amrita Burma AP, PSM ANIIMS, Dr Mitul Saha, SR, PSM ANIIMS, Dr.Rahim, MO (RBSK), Dr Jahanara Yasmin DD (MS & IEC) ANACS, Smt Hemalatha Clinical Psychologist, G B Pant Hospital were the resource persons for the above said training.
