Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 22: A training programme under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) was conducted on Feb. 20 at the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat, Shyam Nagar, Swaraj Deep. The themes of the programme were “Strengthening Local Governance: Training Elected Representatives on the Principles and Objectives of PRIs (Theme-8)” and “Fostering Synergies between Rural Youth and PRIs for Sustainable Community Development.”
The programme began with a welcome address by Ms. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer, Prothrapur, who highlighted the importance of empowering PRI members and engaging rural youth for effective grassroots governance.
A total of 70 participants, including PRI members, attended the programme. The resource person, Smti. Deepa Biswas, conducted an interactive session focusing on the constitutional objectives, roles, and responsibilities of PRIs, along with strategies to enhance youth participation in local development.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and appreciated the practical insights shared during the training. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Smti. Anila, Panchayat Secretary, Shyam Nagar.
