
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: As part of the month-long celebrations of the 76th Van Mahotsav, the Forest Extension & Publicity Division (FE&PD) organized a Tree Plantation Drive today at the premises of the Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and highlight the vital role of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
Shri Devendar Yadav, Director, Veer Savarkar International Airport was the chief guest on the occasion. The plantation drive was conducted in the presence of Shri K.G. Russogi, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer (FE&PD), Staff of Airport Authority, other Forest staff & workers of the division. Altogether, 140 seedlings were planted by participants.
Van Mahotsav celebrated annually serves as a reminder of the indispensable role trees play in our lives and the collective responsibility we share in protecting our natural resources.
The entire event was organized under the supervision of Dr. S. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (R&WP), and concluded successfully embodying the true spirit of Van Mahotsav through collective action and community involvement.
