Union Territory Level DGsP/ IGsP Conference Convened Under the Chairmanship of Lt. Governor

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 8: In alignment of the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, a Union Territory Level DGsP/IGsP Conference was convened under the chairmanship of Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency today to disseminate and deliberate upon the key outcomes of the All India DGsP/IGsP Conference – 2025. Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, ANI, Shri Sanjay Kumar Sinha, IFS, PCCF, Commissioner-cum-Secretaries, senior Officers of A&N Administration and all Officers of Andaman & Nicobar Police participated in the deliberations.

The inaugural session was held in the Conference Hall of Lok Niwas, where an overview of the 60th All India Conference of DGsP/IGsP – 2025 along with a performance report on achievements of A&N Police was presented by the Police Department. Discussions were held to develop a framework for implementation of actionable points for the A & N Police and the A & N Administration and to strengthen coordination between Police & Administration. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor appreciated Police Station Pahargaon for securing the 2nd position among more than 18000 Police Stations across the country.

Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among Civil Administration and Police forces to ensure safety, security, and welfare of the citizens of the Islands. He urged all officers to implement the actionable points emerging from the DGsP/IGsP Conference-2025 with commitment and urgency.

The technical sessions were held at the Conference Hall of Police Headquarters to brain storm on key policing challenges in various fields like Disaster Management, Coastal Security, use of technology like NATGRID & ICJS and strategies to tackle Cyber Fraud & Narcotics.

The Conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the Andaman & Nicobar Police’s resolve to uphold the highest standards of policing and governance in the Union Territory, in line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
