WCM Kasthuri Bhai R Secures 4th Place at Asian Junior Girls Rapid Chess Championship 2026

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 19: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is proud to congratulate Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Kasthuri Bhai R for her impressive performance at the Asian Junior Girls Rapid Chess Championship 2026, held in Mumbai from 17th to 18th August 2026.

Representing Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Kasthuri Bhai R finished an outstanding 4th position in the championship, scoring 5 points from 7 rounds. She displayed remarkable consistency and competitive spirit against a strong field of players from India and other Asian countries.

Kasthuri, rated 1821, recorded five wins and two losses in the seven-round Swiss-system tournament, finishing among the leading players in the championship. Her performance is a significant achievement for chess in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and reflects the growing talent and potential of young chess players from the Islands.
