Sri Vijaya Puram, March 10: As part of the celebration of International Women’s Day, With You NGO felicitated several prominent women of the Andaman community in recognition of their achievements and contributions to society. The dignitaries honoured on the occasion included Ms Purva Garg( IAS), Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman; Smti Shweta K. Sugathan (IPS), Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District; Smti Mamta Rekh, Deputy Chief Engineer, ALHW, Smti Manju Nair, Managing Director, Arun Hospital, Smti Sobha Lall, Retired Principal of PM SHRI GSSS Bambooflat, Ms Alka, Advocate and Smti Muneshwari, Social Worker.
In the evening, the members of the NGO organized a special outing for the inmates of Ulhas Old Age Home, Attam Pahad. The senior citizens were taken to Marina Park, where they enjoyed the scenic beauty and refreshing environment. The elderly inmates spent a joyful evening dancing, singing, and sharing light moments while enjoying snacks of their choice.
A cake was also cut during the celebration by a 92-year-old inmate, which added warmth and happiness to the occasion. The outing brought immense joy and excitement to the residents, making the evening truly memorable for them.
On the occasion, Ms V. K. Mariyam Bibi, Founder-President of With You NGO, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Social Welfare Department for taking such good care of the residents of Ulhas Home. She also extended special thanks to Smti Bharathi, the caretaker of Ulhas Home, for her sincere dedication and compassionate service in ensuring that the inmates feel comfortable and at home.
Members of With You NGO were also present during the outing and spent quality time interacting with the senior citizens. The NGO believes that such outings are very important for the emotional well-being of elderly women and reaffirmed its commitment to always stand by and support women in need.
