ZSI to Organise One-Week Compulsory Training Course for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 12: Zoological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre is organizing a one week compulsory Training Course on Natural Resource Management and Conflict Resolution Skills for Forests Management for the officers of Indian Forest Service (IFS) during 13th – 17th October 2025 sponsored by the Research and Training Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.  This training course will be attended by 30 senior level Indian Forest Service Officers (IFS) from various States & Union Territory (AGMUT, Assam-Meghalaya, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal).

The five days training course includes class rooms teaching; field visit and training to Swaraj Dweep (Rani Jhansi Marine National Park), Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, Wandoor; Baratang (Mangrove ecosystem & lime stone cave), Chidiyatappu Biological Park, besides hands on training on the intertidal marine biodiversity at Bumanella, South Andaman.  The five day training course will be inaugurated by Dr. R.S.C. Jayaraj, IFS (Retd.), former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, A & N Islands as Chief Guest; besides Dr. Deleep Kumar, IFS (Retd.), former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Madhya Pradesh; Dr. S. Dinesh Kannan, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Department of Environment and Forests will be a Special Guests.  The programme will be held in Sea Shell Coral Cove, Minnie Bay.
