Interactive Session on Child Psychology – “Man Ki Udaan” Organised at DBRAIT

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 7: An interactive session on Child Psychology titled “Man Ki Udaan” was organized on 04 April 2026 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT). The programme was conducted as a psycho-educational initiative to promote mental well-being among students, in line with the guidelines and mandate of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) emphasizing student mental health and holistic development.

The session focused on key aspects of adolescent mental health, including understanding the developing brain, recognizing early warning signs of depression and emotional distress, and identifying at-risk students at an early stage. It also emphasized suicide risk awareness and the importance of timely intervention, ensuring that no student’s silent struggle goes unnoticed. The interactive format encouraged open dialogue, allowing students to engage freely and seek guidance in a supportive environment.

The session was conducted by Dr. Jayasree Sar Chaowdhury, Psychologist and researcher, and Ms. Jayati Mukherjee, Consultant Psychologist and Mindfulness-based Life Skills Trainer from Kolkata, West Bengal. The resource persons shared valuable insights on stress management, emotional regulation, and mindfulness practices, which were well received by the participants.

The programme was coordinated by Shri Rajnish Kumar, Lecturer (Mechanical), whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the session. The session concluded on a positive note, highlighting the importance of continued awareness and institutional support for student well-being by Dean (Students Affair).
