Awareness Programme on UDID Organised at District Hospital, Garacharma

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 8: An awareness programme on Unique Disability ID (UDID) Scheme was organized today at District Hospital, Garacharma by Department of Social Welfare. The programme witnessed participation from Anganwadi Workers, Nursing and medical staff, and general public.

During the programme, resource persons from Social Welfare and Composite Regional Centre (CRC) sensitized the participants about various aspects of disability and UDID Scheme. Rehabilitation Officer, CRC Brookshabad, spoke in detail about types of disabilities, categories of UDID cards, and the disability certification process.

This was followed by a session by State Coordinator (UDID), Social Welfare, who provided technical guidance on the UDID registration process and other related aspects, encouraging participants to facilitate registration of eligible beneficiaries.

Further, Disability incharge, elaborated on the various Government schemes and benefits available to Persons with Disabilities, highlighting the importance of possessing a UDID card to avail such benefits.

The programme aimed at creating awareness and encouraging registration under the UDID Scheme to ensure better access to services and entitlements for Persons with Disabilities.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the participation and support of all attendees.
