Indian Oil Corporation Confirms Adequate Availability of Petrol, Diesel and LPG in A&N Islands to Meet Current Demand

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 13: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has confirmed that the availability of Petrol, Diesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is adequate to meet the current demand.

Shri Rakesh Kumar, State Level Coordinator (SLC) for A&N Islands, stated that IOCL is closely monitoring the supply situation and there has been no disruption in receipt of POL and LPG supplies at its installations in Sri Vijaya Puram. Fuel supplies across the Islands continue to remain uninterrupted. IOCL is working in close coordination with the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to ensure stability of supplies.

The SLC further informed that a growth of 4.87% in Domestic LPG and 20.21% in Non-Domestic LPG has been recorded during FY 2025–26, and Indian Oil remains fully committed to meeting the future energy demand of the Islands.

Consumers are encouraged to book LPG refills through SMS, missed call, or IVRS platforms. Use of Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) is advised to ensure delivery to the intended consumer.

For migrant workers and students without local address proof, 5 kg LPG cylinders are available through authorised INDANE distributors upon submission of a valid Government-issued photo identity along with a self-declaration.

As per Government of India guidelines, domestic LPG consumers can book a refill after 25 days of the previous delivery in case of Urban LPG distributorships and after 45 days in case of Rural LPG distributorships.

IOCL has been conducting regular inspections at LPG distributorships to ensure compliance and continuity of supply. The Andaman and Nicobar Administration is also actively monitoring the market, taking feedback from consumers, and undertaking random checks of LPG refill distribution to prevent hoarding and black marketing.

To strengthen monitoring, the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, A&N Administration, has established a Control Room for:

-Monitoring real-time stock of LPG and petroleum products across the Islands.

-Receiving and verifying complaints through Toll-Free No. 18003453197 and Telephone No. 03192-230337.
