ANTCC Observes 136th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with Blood Donation Camp

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 15: The Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) on 14th April 2026, solemnly observed the 136th Birth Anniversary of *Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at the Congress Office, Port Blair.

The programme commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of Ambedkar Ji by ANTCC President Shri Rangalal Halder, followed by floral tributes offered by senior Congress leaders and party workers as a mark of deep respect to the Architect of the Indian Constitution.

On the occasion, a Blood Donation Camp was organised as a noble initiative to honour the ideals and legacy of Ambedkar Ji. The camp witnessed an encouraging response, with more than 30 voluntary donors coming forward to donate blood, reflecting the spirit of service and social responsibility inspired by Dr. Ambedkar’s teachings.

Speaking on the occasion, party leaders highlighted the immense contribution of Ambedkar Ji towards social justice, equality, and empowerment of the marginalized sections of society. They reiterated their commitment to uphold his vision and work towards an inclusive and progressive nation.

The event witnessed the presence of several Congress leaders and members, including representatives from the District Congress Committee, Block Congress Committee, ANTCC Spokespersons, ANTCC Treasurer, City Congress Committee, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, OBC Department, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan, Municipal Councillors, and a large number of party workers and members of the general public.

The ANTCC reaffirmed its dedication to carry forward the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar through meaningful initiatives aimed at public welfare and social upliftment.
