Shaheed Dweep, April 15: PROPHETESS PRIYA MINISTRIES (NGO) solemnly unveiled a memorial on 12 April 2026 at Sitapur Village, Shaheed Dweep, in honour of the 40 CRPF jawans who laid down their lives in the Pulwama attack on 14 February 2019.
Smti Arati Bhattacharjee, W/o Late Amullya Bhattacharjee, R/o Neil Kendra, Shaheed Dweep, a respected senior citizen, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unveiled the monument.
This memorial stands as a symbol of patriotism, remembrance, gratitude, and national unity, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to the nation.
The foundation stone for the memorial was laid on 20 February 2026 by Ms. Priya Basu, Founder and Patron of PROPHETESS PRIYA MINISTRIES (NGO), in the august presence of Ms. Pinkey Das, Pradhan, Neil Kendra Gram Panchayat, Shaheed Dweep, PRI members, and the local community.
Mr. Dasrath Verma, Zilla Parishad Member, Shaheed Dweep, presented a heartfelt poem in honour of the fallen CRPF bravehearts, leaving a deep emotional impact on all present, while Ms. Pinkey Das, Pradhan, Neil Kendra Gram Panchayat, Shaheed Dweep, lauded the organisation for its meaningful and impactful efforts in preserving the memory of the martyrs. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Almina Khatun, Medical Officer, PHC Shaheed Dweep; SI P. Jeevan, SHO, Police Station Shaheed Dweep; Ms. Sulekha, JE, APWD; Mr. Bimal Kumar Roy, Former Pradhan, Former Zilla Parishad Member, and National Youth Awardee; Mr. Sukumar Das, Former Zilla Parishad Member; and Mrs. Gundeep Chaudhary, w/o Late Col. Anil Chaudhary of 10 Armoured Regiment, Indian Army. The ceremony was also attended by PRI members, government officials, numerous villagers of Shaheed Dweep, volunteers, and well-wishers. The ceremony stood not only as a solemn tribute to the bravehearts but also as a powerful reminder of their enduring legacy of sacrifice, inspiring unity, patriotism, and a shared sense of responsibility among all present.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Founder and Patron of the NGO, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty, the Chief Guest Mrs. Aarti Bhattacharjee, Pradhan Ms. Pinky Das, and all dignitaries for their gracious presence.
