Mayabunder, April 28: North and Middle Andaman District Police secured justice in FIR No. 48/2022 dated 28.09.2022, registered under Sections 302/326 IPC at PS Mayabunder, with the conviction of accused.
On 28.04.2026, the Hon’ble Court of Additional Sessions Judge, N&M Andaman, Mayabunder, pronounced the sentence in the case, awarding Rigorous Imprisonment for Life along with fine for the offence committed under Section 302 IPC, and 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment along with fine for the offence committed under Section 326 IPC.
The case pertains to a violent incident at Tugapur-8 on 28th September 2022, wherein the accused attacked his family members with a sharp weapon, resulting in the death of his mother-in-law and causing grievous injuries to another victim.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at PS Mayabunder and investigation was promptly initiated by Inspr. Usman Ali, the then SHO, PS Mayabunder, who also served as the Investigating Officer. Through his dedication, professionalism, and meticulous investigation, crucial evidence was effectively collected and presented, contributing significantly to the successful conviction
