AIKMCC Andaman Facilitates Repatriation of Indonesian National’s Mortal Remains

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 28: The AIKMCC Andaman State Committee, Port Blair has successfully facilitated the repatriation of the mortal remains of Late Mr. Arfan, a 30-year-old Indonesian national, to his home country.

Late Mr. Arfan, a resident of Kediaman Bapak Ruknin 2 Poros, Desa Lasalimu, Sulawesi Tenggara, Indonesia, and a crew member of a cargo vessel from Indonesia, unfortunately passed away on 24th April 2026 while undergoing treatment at GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Upon being officially authorized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, New Delhi, the AIKMCC Andaman State Committee immediately took charge of all necessary formalities. Under the leadership of its President and General Secretary, the Committee coordinated with GB Pant Hospital, the District Administration, the Police Department, and airline authorities to ensure a dignified and timely process. Mr. Sohan Singh, the Protocol officer from Indonesian Embassy New Delhi accompanied the body from Sri Vijaya Puram to New Delhi.

The embalming process was completed on 27th April 2026 at GB Pant Hospital in the presence of AIKMCC members. The mortal remains were duly sealed and packed as per international aviation and health guidelines.

AIKMCC Andaman, with all-out efforts, dispatched the body on today’s flight to Delhi, from where it will be further transported to Jakarta, Indonesia for handing over to the bereaved family for final rites.

President, AIKMCC Andaman State Committee, Shri Abdul Siddique said, “We are humbled by the trust placed in us by the Indonesian Embassy. Serving humanity in times of grief is our duty. We thank the A&N Administration, GB Pant Hospital, Police, and all authorities for their swift cooperation. May Allah grant Maghfirat to the departed soul.”

The AIKMCC Andaman State Committee has been actively involved in community welfare and humanitarian services across the islands. This repatriation marks another instance of the Committee’s commitment to serving people beyond borders.
