Sri Vijaya Puram, May 5: The Directorate of Shipping Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration has announced the introduction of On-line Daily Harbour Ferry Ticketing through the STARS E-Ticketing Portal with immediate effect. This initiative marks a significant step toward digital transformation, aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and improving the efficiency of ferry services across the Harbour sector.
Under this new system, passengers can conveniently book One Way and Round Trip (Return) tickets on-line for all operational harbour ferry routes in Sri Vijaya Puram. Tickets booked through the portal will be valid for a single journey on the date of issuance.
Also, in continuation of the facility of Monthly Passes, the on-line renewal of the Monthly Passes is now available for commuters.
In addition, a QR-based Digital Verification System has been implemented to ensure secure and seamless passenger authentication. All Daily E-Tickets and Monthly Passes will carry a unique QR code, which will be scanned by Checking Inspectors using a dedicated mobile verification application at jetties for instant validation.

The Directorate of Shipping Services and the A&N Administration remains committed to provide safe, reliable and efficient shipping services through advance technology. The implementation of on-line daily harbour ferry ticketing system has been facilitated by CRIS (Centre for Railway Information System).
All passengers and general public are encouraged to avail this digital facility for a more convenient, time-saving, comfortable and hassle-free travel experience. However, for the convenience of all commuters, existing offline daily ticketing counters will continue to function as usual.
