Sri Vijaya Puram, May 7: Shri P. Ummer, Zilla Parishad Member from Mannarghat Constituency, Indian National Congress, has been elected as the new Adhyaksh of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman while Shri Asha Manja Halder, Zilla Parishad Member from Little Andaman Constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party, has been elected as new Up- Adhyaksh of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman for the fifth-year term tenure (2022-2027).
The Adhyaksh and the Up-Adhyaksh were elected during a special meeting of all the elected members of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, held today in the Conference hall of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms Purva Garg, IAS. After the election, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman handed over the Certificates to the winning Candidates. All the 18 elected members of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman casted their vote in the meeting today.
The Oath of Office to the elected Adhyaksh and Up- Adhyaksh of the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman will be administered by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman on 08.05.2026 at 3:00 PM in the Conference hall of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman.
