Sri Vijaya Puram, May 10: The “Mom & Me” Team Chess Tournament, organized by the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association on the occasion of Mother’s Day, concluded successfully at ANCA Chess Centre, Dairy Farm on 10.05.2026.
The special tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from mother-child teams, celebrating the spirit of bonding, teamwork, and togetherness through the game of chess.
Played in an innovative format, each team comprised a mother and her child, who played together by making alternate moves on the chessboard. The rapid-format event created an exciting and lively atmosphere, with participants displaying remarkable coordination, strategy, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
After a series of closely contested rounds, the duo of Jothi and Eshaan emerged as winners, securing the first position. Tripti and Hardik clinched the second position, while Nevethitha and Rudrani secured the third position. Medals were also presented to all participating mothers in recognition of their constant support, encouragement, and contribution to their children’s journey.
The tournament concluded with prize distribution, celebrating the special bond between mothers and children through chess.
