Sri Vijaya Puram, May 10: The International Mother’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner by Maa Foundation today at Bageecha – an initiative of Andaman Chronicle. The celebration was attended by the residents of Ullas Old Age Home, who were the special guests on the occasion. Shri Sanjay Meshack, Ex-Councillor, SVPMC had graced the celebration as the guest of honour.
The celebration started with a welcome address by Shri Denis Giles, Editor, Andaman Chronicle, which was followed by song numbers on Mother by Mr. Sajid Khan and Mr Basant Ram, artists from BRW Entertainment. Later, Ms. Vasanthi, Secretary Maa Foundation gave a brief about the NGO and the activities which is being done by them.
This was followed by a cake cutting ceremony in which the residents of Ullas Old Age Home joined along with the members of the NGO. Special gifts sponsored by IMFC was also handed over to the residents by Shri Sahil, Manager, IMFC. On the occasion, IMFC also announced a monitory support to the NGO to continue the social works.
The celebration continued with the residents of Ullas turning Bageecha into a dance floor and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. M. Brindawati, President, Maa Foundation.
