Month-Long Summer Yoga Camp by AYUSH Concludes

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 1: The month-long Summer Yoga Camp for Children along with the Training for Trainers on Common Yoga Protocol organized by the Ayush Wing of the Directorate of Health Services and the A&N State Ayush Society (NAM) concluded successfully on 30th May, 2026. The programme was conducted as part of the activities leading up to the observance of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) – 2026, with the objective of promoting awareness and regular practice of yoga among children, staff and the general public.

The summer yoga camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from children throughout the month. Various yogic practices including asanas, pranayama, meditation and relaxation techniques were taught to improve flexibility, concentration, discipline and overall well-being. The camp also encouraged children to adopt yoga as a healthy lifestyle practice from an early age.

Simultaneously, the Training for Trainers on Common Yoga Protocol was conducted for departmental staff and yoga instructors to strengthen preparedness for the upcoming International Day of Yoga celebrations. The training focused on correct demonstration and practice of the Common Yoga Protocol as prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

The initiatives were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Nandini, MO I/c (Y & N), Ayush Hospital, with active support from Yoga Instructors and departmental staff. The concluding session marked the successful completion of both programmes and appreciated the dedicated participation of all trainees and children.
