Sri Vijaya Puram, June 19: Congress leader M.A. Sajid has expressed serious concern over multiple civic problems troubling residents of Junglighat, Ward No. 13. For the past 2–3 months, stray pigs around Deen Street have been damaging properties, overturning dustbins, and creating unhygienic conditions that pose a major health risk. Further, heavy rainfall has left the 1st Cross Road (Ananda Marga School Road) and 3rd Cross Road (Island Bakery Road) severely damaged with deep potholes, causing frequent accidents, traffic jams, and danger to school children. In addition, overgrown tree branches across 1st to 4th Cross Roads are touching main electricity lines, leading to sparking, power cuts, and risk of fatal accidents during rains.
On behalf of the aggrieved residents, M.A. Sajid has urged the Municipal Council and Electricity Department to take immediate and coordinated action to address the stray pig menace, repair the damaged roads, and trim hazardous tree branches to ensure public safety and hygiene in Junglighat.
