Sri Vijaya Puram, June 25: The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in association with the State Sports Council (SSC) and the Education Department, successfully concluded the Summer Sports Coaching Camp – 2026 with a grand Valedictory Function held yesterday at the Multipurpose Sports Hall, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The function was graced by Shri Rajnish Kumar Singh, IAS, Secretary (Transport), A&N Administration, as the chief guest, who appreciated the Directorate’s efforts in providing a platform to nurture young sporting talent and encouraged the participants to pursue sports with discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. Shri Aditya Sangotra, Director (Sports & Youth Affairs), who was the guest of honour, motivated the students to make the best use of their summer vacation through sports and other constructive activities.
The coaching camp, conducted from 8th May to 24th June, 2026, witnessed enthusiastic participation by children from across the Islands. During the valedictory function, participation certificates were distributed to the trainees, while coaches, PTIs, and supporting staff were felicitated for their dedicated contribution to the successful conduct of the camp.
The Directorate expressed its gratitude to the State Sports Council, Education Department, coaches, PTIs, Parents, and all stakeholders for their support in making the camp a grand success and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sports, physical fitness, and nurturing young sporting talent across the Islands.
