
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 14: The District Administration, South Andaman has undertaken a focused initiative to expedite the disposal of long-pending land diversion cases pertaining to Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, with the objective of improving service delivery and reducing pendency.
In this regard, Revenue Camp Courts were conducted on July 11 at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Swaraj Dweep, and on July 13 at the Patwari Office, Shaheed Dweep, under the chairmanship of Shri Kamaleshwar Rao S, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman. The Camp Court was organized to facilitate the expeditious disposal of pending land diversion cases at the field level, thereby ensuring timely, transparent, and accessible redressal of public grievances.
A large number of applicants attended the Camp Courts. During the proceedings, 65 land diversion cases at Swaraj Dweep and 14 land diversion cases at Shaheed Dweep, pending up to June 2026, were heard and disposed of in accordance with the provisions of the relevant rules and regulations.
The Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman also visited and review the ongoing progress of Modernized Sea Port Terminal at Swaraj Dweep.
Further, on July 12, a total of 18 Unnatural Death (UD)cases were also disposed of during a special Camp Court held at Police Station, Swaraj Dweep.
The initiative has significantly streamlined and expedited the decision-making process and contributed to the substantial reduction of long-pending cases, thereby providing timely relief to the applicants. It also reflects the District Administration’s commitment to citizen-centric governance by bringing essential public services closer to the people.
The District Administration, South Andaman, shall continue to organize such Camp Courts and outreach programmes at regular intervals to ensure efficient delivery of public services, enhance administrative accessibility, and further reduce the pendency of revenue-related matters.
