
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 8: As part of the Inclusive Education initiative, a Language Club for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) was inaugurated at the Language Lab, GPS Subashgram, Diglipur. On the occasion of International Literacy Day 2026, the initiative was organised by the Block Project Office, Diglipur, under Samagra Shiksha, in the presence of Dr. (Smt.) C. Pushpavalli, Block Project Officer, BPO Diglipur, to promote language development and meaningful participation of children with special needs in literacy activities.
The 60th International Literacy Day was observed under the theme, ‘Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity.’ The occasion emphasised literacy as a fundamental human right and the need to provide every child, including Children with Special Needs (CwSN), with meaningful opportunities to develop literacy skills. The Language Lab was inaugurated by the chief guest, Elencheliyen, Up-Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Subashgram, marking an important step towards strengthening inclusive literacy initiatives.
