Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 13: Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council will undertake a special enforcement drive within its municipal limits to identify and take appropriate action against violations of the Municipal Building Bye-Laws, 1999, framed under the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Municipal Regulation, 1994, including unauthorized construction and construction activities carried out in contravention of the applicable building bye-laws.
During the drive, the concerned Building Inspectors, along with their teams, will inspect buildings and construction sites to verify whether ongoing and completed constructions conform to the sanctioned building plans and prescribed building bye-laws. The inspections will focus on unauthorized construction, deviations from approved building plans and construction undertaken without obtaining the requisite permission or approval from SVPMC/Revenue Department.
The general public is hereby advised not to undertake any construction without obtaining the requisite prior approval from SVPMC and ensuring compliance with the applicable Municipal building bye-laws 1999.
