Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 22: The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a UT Plan scheme namely “Assistance for purchase of Life Saving Appliances/Fire Fighting Appliances/ Navigational equipment (GPS, VHF, DAT etc.)”. In this regard, applications are invited from the bonafide fisherman/Tribes residing in the Municipal and Tribal fishing areas of A&N Islands for under the UT Plan scheme of the Department during the year 2026-27.
Pattern of assistance:
50% subsidy of the unit cost for General Fisher / Unemployed Youth / Local Entrepreneur / Fisheries Cooperative Societies and 75% subsidy of the unit cost for Schedule Tribe / Tribal Cooperative Society fishers having Non-motorized, Motorized and Mechanized fishing boats on purchase of life saving/ firefighting appliances including navigational GPS and VHF.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant should be a bonafide fisherman/Tribe of A&N Islands possessing registered non-motorized / motorized /mechanized fishing craft and holding a valid fishing license for two consecutive years including the current year.
The application form and the detailed guidelines of the UT Plan subsidy programme can be obtained from the Directorate of Fisheries / Zonal Fisheries Offices, nearest Fisheries Sub Stations and also available in the Official website of A&N Administration (http://www.andamannicobar.gov.in/). The applications completed in all respect should reach the nearest Fisheries Zonal Office / Sub Stations on or before Oct. 30.
