War Against Drugs: N&MA Police Foil Drug Supply Chain in Diglipur, Three Arrested

Diglipur, Aug 21: In a swift and decisive operation, PS Diglipur successfully uncovered an illegal drug sale in Subashgram & Sitanagar, Diglipur based on credible information received. The operation was conducted under the direction of Shri Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur. A dedicated team, led by Insp. Vijay Kumar, SHO PS Diglipur, SI Abdul Shakil, HC Sanjit Madhu, PCs Ashish Kr. Singh, Yasir Arafat, Bijoy Sarkar, Susen Das, P.L Venkatesh, Reena Rani Roy, Sujata Das & Sagarika Roy, along with two independent witnesses, was immediately formed to take action.

On reaching the spot, the team swiftly intercepted the suspect and conducted a search, which led to the recovery of approx. One kilogram of illicit ganja from the possession of Sujay Bala S/o Late Suraj Bala R/o Subashgram, Ward No. 05, Diglipur.

During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed the names of two more individuals linked with the illegal drug chain, namely Aman Halder S/o Shri Bankim Ch. Halder, 23 years, Pvt. Worker, R/o Sitanagar, Ward No. 2 and Bikram Baroi R/o Subashgram, Ward No. 05, Diglipur. Acting swiftly on this crucial lead, the police team launched follow-up raids and successfully apprehended both individuals and led to the recovery of approx. 800 grams of illicit Ganja from them.

With these recoveries, the operation culminated in the seizure of a total of approx. 1.900 Kg of illicit ganja, thereby dismantling a local network engaged in drug peddling.

All the three accused persons were arrested and a case has been registered at PS Diglipur under the NDPS Act for further investigation.

This seizure marks a major success in the ongoing efforts of Andaman & Nicobar Police against the menace of narcotics and reflects the unwavering commitment of the police force to keep the islands drug-free.
