Delegation of ANRKM Present Matter Regarding Absorption of Contractual Employees of ALHW to Minister

New Delhi, Nov. 28: With the continuous efforts of Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) and Shri Vishal Jolly, today the delegation of ANRKM along with the representative of ALHW Karmachari Sangh met the Hon’ble Union Minister of Port, Shipping and Waterways Shri. Sarbanand Sonowal to present the matter of absorption of contractual manpower continuously engaged by ALHW for more than 15 to 20 years. Shri. S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary, ANRKM informed about the provisions under CLRA1970 and submitted the subsequent judgements of Hon’ble Supreme Court, wherein directions were given to absorb the manpower in the establishment as the work is continuously and perennial in nature.

The Minister given a patient hearing and enquired about the works and status of the workmen who were engaged by the outsourcing contractor which was presented before the Hon’ble Minister in detail and requested the Hon’ble Minister to constitute a Committee to study the ground reality of the Outsourced employees of ALHW.

Finally, it was agreed to constitute a committee to assess the current status of workman, their nature of work, study the provisions of CLRA, 1970 in the light of Hon’ble Supreme Court judgements for absorption. The delegation was led by Shri Jaydeep Kumar Dey, President ANRKM along with Shri. S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary, Shri P. Jagdish, President and Shri Arogya Das, Secretary ALHW Karmachari Sangh.

ANRKM express gratitude to Shri. B. L. Santosh Ji National General Secretary (Org), BJP for his intervention in the matter to resolve at the earliest. We also express our gratitude to Shri P. Dinesh, Additional Private Secretary and Shri Tuhin Hazarika, Personal Secretary of MoPSW for their cooperation. The efforts of Shri. Vishal Jolly, National Council Member, BJP is laudable.
