
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 22: The three-day Entrepreneurs Development Program for Coir Trainees, organized by the Coir Board, Sub Regional Office, Sri Vijaya Puram, commenced today (22.12.2025) at the Directorate of Industries’ Conference Hall. The program was inaugurated by Shri Atul Soni, DANICS, Director, Directorate of Industries, Sri Vijaya Puram. In his inaugural address, he inspired the participants to form Self-Help Groups, leverage marketing assistance schemes, and explore collective opportunities for growth. Shri T.V. Sabu, Extension Service Officer, Coir Board, Sri Vijaya Puram, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he elaborated on the Coir Board, employment opportunities in the coir sector, and the export of coir products to various countries. Shri R. Sunilkumar, Technical Assistant, Coir Board, Sri Vijaya Puram, delivered the welcome address. Smt. Sunitha Kumari, Deputy Director, Directorate of Industries, Anup Kumar Mandal, Development Officer, AAJVS, Sri Vijaya Puram, and Dr. Manikandan offered felicitations. Smt. Kamaladevi, Trainer, delivered the vote of thanks.
Eighty trainees who participated in the field training conducted by the Coir Board, Sri Vijaya Puram, attended this program. The Coir Board has organized two-day classes for women in villages who received a stipend for two months of field training. These classes teach them how various government offices can assist entrepreneurs. The topics covered include Industries Department, DIC, Bank, MSME, Personality Development, and Marketing. The third day will be a field visit to Sree Ayyappa Coir Industries, Beodnabad Road, Calicut Village where they can observe the production of coir fibre and coir yarn using machines. The Director distributed certificates to 40 trainees who successfully completed the Coir Board’s field training.
