NIOT Scientist Bags ASA Fellow Award

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 25: A Scientist from the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Scientist-F and Officer-In-Charge of its field centre, the Atal Centre for Ocean Science and Technology for Islands (ACOSTI) at Sri Vijaya Puram, has been conferred the Fellow of the Andaman Science Association (ASA) award for the year 2025–26.

This is one of the highest honours of the Andaman Science Association, which is awarded annually in recognition of exemplary contributions to scientific research, innovation, and development at the regional and national levels. The honour acknowledges sustained scientific excellence and service to the research community.

The award was formally presented to Dr. Jha during the National Conference of ASA on “One Health Synergy: Integrating Human, Animal, Plant and Aquatic Life for a Sustainable Future,” held on 25.02.26 at ICAR-CIARI, Sri Vijaya Puram. The Association acknowledged his sustained scientific leadership and dedicated service in advancing research and technological initiatives benefiting both the island and mainland coastal communities.
