Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 26: Zoological Survey of India, A & N Regional Centre and EIACP Centre on Island Biodiversity will organize a two-day workshop on “Science and Technology for a Greener Future” as a part of celebration of National Science Day during 27th – 28th February 2026. About 50 teachers and students from different schools, besides GSDP trainees will attend the workshop.
India celebrates February 28, as National Science Day. This annual event commemorates the 1928 discovery of the Raman Effect by physicist Sir C.V. Raman, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. In 1986, the Government of India instituted National Science Day on February 28 to commemorate this accomplishment and raise awareness of science. Students and residents are encouraged to think scientifically and are reminded of the value of science on this day.
