Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: A two-day training programme on the topic ‘Livestock vaccination and feeds & fodder’ was conducted by C.D. Block Prothrapur for the SHG members under DAY-NRLM at Gram Panchayat Neil Kendra on March 9 & 10.
The programme was organized in coordination with the Directorate of AH&VS. Dr. Gali Venkata Sriharsha, Senior Veterinary Officer, along with his team, acted as the resource persons and provided training on livestock vaccination and scientific feeding practices.
During the training programme, practical demonstrations on vaccination of livestock were conducted for the participants. The team also demonstrated Azolla cultivation, highlighting its importance as a nutritious and cost-effective feed supplement for livestock.
The training programme witnessed active participation from SHG members, who showed keen interest in learning improved livestock management practices. The participants requested that vaccines should be made available locally so that they can vaccinate their livestock themselves in a timely manner. They also expressed their willingness to undertake Azolla cultivation to enhance the productivity of their livestock.
Smt. Pinkey Das, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Neil Kendra, also participated in the training and encouraged the SHG members to utilize the knowledge gained from the training programme to enhance their livelihood activities.
