
Sri Vijaya Puram, March 12: The Police Training School, Prothrapur—now renamed as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Police Training Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram—proudly celebrated the successful completion of training of the 75th Batch of Recruit Police Constables (Executive) with a grand Passing Out Parade held on 12th March 2026 at the institute premises.
The ceremony marked the culmination of several months of rigorous and comprehensive training undergone by 30 recruit trainees, who are now fully prepared to serve the citizens of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with dedication, discipline, professionalism, and integrity. The training programme was designed to equip the recruits with the necessary physical endurance, legal knowledge, technical skills, and ethical values required for modern policing.
The event was attended by senior officers of the Andaman & Nicobar Police, instructors of the training institute, and the proud family members of the recruits, who witnessed the transformation of the young trainees into disciplined police personnel ready to uphold law and order.
Smti. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Training), Andaman & Nicobar Police, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. She took the ceremonial salute and inspected the parade, appreciating the recruits for their impressive turnout, precision in drill, and exemplary discipline displayed during the parade.
In her address to the newly passed-out constables, the Chief Guest congratulated the trainees on the successful completion of their training and reminded them of the immense responsibility entrusted upon them as members of the police force. She emphasized that the role of a police constable goes beyond enforcement of law and involves maintaining public trust, ensuring safety, and serving society with compassion and fairness.
She also highlighted the significance of Nyaya Sanhita implemented from 1st July 2024, which have brought major reforms in the criminal justice system. She urged the newly inducted constables to remain updated with these changes and perform their duties with professionalism, integrity, and accountability. She further stressed that policing should always be people-centric, encouraging the trainees to work in a manner that builds public confidence in the police.
During the ceremony, the Oath of Service was administered by Shri Uma Shankar, DANIPS, Principal, Police Training School, in the presence of the Chief Guest and Dr. A. Koan, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Training). The oath signified the solemn commitment of the recruits to uphold the Constitution, enforce the law impartially, and serve the nation with honour and dedication.
Adding further significance to the occasion, Degree/Diploma Certificates of Rashtriya Raksha University, Ministry of Home Affairs, were also awarded to the trainees in recognition of their academic and professional achievements during the course of training.
The outstanding performance of several recruits during the training period was recognized with Commendation Certificates, Trophies, and Cash Rewards, sanctioned by the Director General of Police, A & N Islands. The awardees were:

The Passing Out Parade concluded with the newly inducted constables marching off the parade ground with pride and confidence, ready to begin their journey of service in safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the recruits but also highlighted the continued commitment of the Andaman & Nicobar Police towards professional training and capacity building.
