Sri Vijaya Puram, May 13: The Members of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) participated in the inaugural sailing of MV Wave Rider, a newly launched state-of-the-art 50-seater luxury vessel, on its maiden voyage to the pristine Jolly Buoy Island, one of the crown jewels of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park.
The MV Wave Rider, owned and operated by Mr. Mohd. Sajid, promises to redefine marine travel in the Andaman Islands. The vessel features luxury seating, a fully air-conditioned onboard café, and a host of amenities to offer tourists a comfortable and elevated experience while exploring one of India’s most stunning eco-tourism destinations.
The voyage included a visit to Jolly Buoy Island, famous for its crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, and vibrant marine life. As a no-plastic, conservation-focused destination, the island is known for its glass-bottom boat rides and is accessible only for a limited period each year, making it a highly sought-after location for eco-conscious travelers.
As part of the package, guests on the inaugural trip were treated to a delicious onboard lunch, along with refreshments at the beach, including tender coconut, mocktail drinks, and relaxing under beach umbrellas and lounge chairs thoughtfully arranged for the comfort of visitors.
Speaking at the event, Shri M. Vinod, President, AATO, thanked Mr. Mohd. Sajid for introducing such a premium product to the Andaman tourism landscape. He appreciated the initiative taken by a local entrepreneur in enhancing the quality of tourism experiences in the islands.
Mr. Sajid, in his address, shared details about the MV Wave Rider experience, highlighting its safety features, modern design, and the all-inclusive package designed to provide travelers with both luxury and environmental consciousness.
AATO applauded the launch as a step forward in upgrading Andaman’s marine tourism offerings and reaffirmed its support for innovative ventures that blend sustainability with visitor satisfaction.
