Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 1: During his recent visit to G.B. Pant Hospital, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma highlighted the need to improve the comfort and basic amenities available to the relatives and attendants of Nicobari patients staying at the waiting area designated for patients’ relatives.
Taking note of the prevailing heat and the difficulties faced by patients’ attendants and relatives who remain at the facility while caring for their patients, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor directed the concerned authorities to make necessary arrangements for the installation of adequate air coolers at the earliest.
Acting promptly on the directions of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, air coolers have now been installed at the designated waiting area. The timely action will provide much-needed relief and improve the comfort of patients’ relatives and attendants, particularly during periods of high temperature and heat.
The provision of the cooling facility is expected to create a more comfortable environment for those who are required to stay at the facility for extended periods while attending to their patients. The prompt implementation of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor’s directions also underscores the Administration’s commitment to ensuring responsive, patient-centric and humane healthcare facilities for patients and their families.
