
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 12: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has agreed with the demands of protesting students. It has been decided that there will be no change in the existing fee structure as these institutions continue to be funded by the Union Territory Administration.
On the issue of affiliation of six colleges Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC), Andaman College (ANCOL), Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Andaman Law College (ALC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) of the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands with Pondicherry University for the Academic Year 2025–26, administration has already requested the Ministry of Education, Government of India for continuation of affiliation with Pondicherry University for 2025-26. Examinations in these six colleges during the Academic Year 2025–26 will be conducted by Pondicherry University in terms of agreement. These students will get the degree from Pondicherry university.
This decision has been taken to ensure academic continuity, avoid disruption to students, and facilitate a smooth transition in the higher education framework of the Islands.
