A&N Administration Secures Second Position in Best Performing States/ UTs with Less than 1 Lakh Employees

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 27: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has brought pride to the Islands by securing the second position in the category of Best Performing States/UTs (with less than 1 lakh employees) during the National Learning Week (NLW) – SADHANA Saptah, held from 2nd to 10th April, 2026.

Organized by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) in collaboration with the Department of Personnel & Training and Karmayogi Bharat, the National Learning Week aimed to strengthen the national capacity-building ecosystem and reinforce the spirit of Seva Bhav. With the Government’s special focus on Capacity Building in Artificial Intelligence (AI), employees were encouraged to take up AI-related courses available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal. The enthusiastic participation of A&N Administration employees ensured the success of the initiative and earned the Islands this prestigious recognition.

A felicitation ceremony was held on 17th April, 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where the award was conferred by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Shri Neeraj Bharati, IAS, Secretary (Home), A&N Administration, attended the ceremony and received the award on behalf of the Administration.

This achievement highlights the Administration’s commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and future-ready governance, with AI capacity building emerging as a key priority for public service excellence.
