Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 8: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANIBOCWWB) organized three Special Awareness Camps today with a view to enrolling left-out eligible workers as beneficiary workmen under the Board.
The camps were conducted for Daily Rated Mazdoor (DRM) workers engaged in sweeping and other allied maintenance works of roads under the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council in Wards No. 4 and 5, and for outsourced workers engaged in maintenance activities of the jetty at Haddo, Sri Vijaya Puram (Ward No. 01) under the Port Management Board.
The primary objective of these camps was to create awareness among the concerned workers regarding registration with ANIBOCWWB as beneficiary workmen, thereby enabling them to avail benefits under various social security and welfare schemes implemented by the Board.
Altogether, 146 workers attended the awareness programmes. All participating workers were provided with the prescribed registration forms to facilitate their enrolment as beneficiary workmen. Officials of the Welfare Board also provided detailed guidance on eligibility criteria, registration procedures, and the benefits available under various welfare schemes of ANIBOCWWB.
The ANIBOCWWB remains committed to reaching out to all eligible construction workers across the Islands and ensuring that workers engaged in construction and allied activities, including the maintenance of roads and jetties, are adequately informed and able to access welfare measures aimed at enhancing their social and economic security.
